Do Something Do Something is a national nonprofit organization that inspires young people to believe that change is possible, and trains, funds, and mobilizes them to be leaders who strengthen their communities. The Do Something BRICK Awards honor dynamic young people for service in the areas of community building, health, and the environment. BRICK winners are leaders who have identified and realized solutions to problems facing local communities across America. Each award includes a $5,000 higher education scholarship, a $5,000 grant for continued community work, pro bono services, and other support and recognition. Young people 18 years old or younger throughout the country are eligible to apply.

Good Neighbor Service Learning Grant
The Youth Service America and State Farm are proud to present the State Farm Good Neighbor Service-Learning Grant. The grant is now available to teachers/professors, youth (ages 5-25), and school-based service-learning coordinators to implement service-learning projects for National Youth Service Day 2005, April 15-17.
National Youth Service Day, the largest service event in the world, mobilizes youth as leaders to identify and address the needs of their communities through service and service-learning, supports youth on a lifelong path of service and civic engagement, and educates the public, the media, and policymakers about the year-round contributions of young people as community leaders.
One hundred grants of $1,000 are available to youth, teachers/professors , and school-based service-learning coordinators. To apply, take advantage of our ONLINE APPLICATION. CDW Government, Inc. (CDW-G) recently announced its fourth annual Education Contest, sponsored by Adobe, in which high school juniors and seniors are asked to create an original piece of two-dimensional digital artwork and write a 250- word essay addressing the topic, "How has technology enhanced your learning experience?" The 2005 art and essay competition opens to U.S. high school juniors and seniors September 1 and ends December 15, 2004. Entries are judged on creativity, style, distinctiveness, use of color, space and medium, as well as originality, grammar and content of the essay. The top 10 winners of CDW-G’s contest will be awarded a variety of technology products and will be featured in an upcoming CDW-G Solutions magalog. The first place winner’s school also will receive a $1,000 gift certificate from CDW-G, which can be used to enhance technology in the classroom. The Nestlé Very Best In Youth program, co-sponsored by Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) and Nestlé USA, honors young people ages 10-18 who have made reading a priority, have contributed significantly to the quality of life in their communities, and have inspired other young people to do their very best. At least twenty-five winners will be selected. Prizes include a trip with a parent/guardian to Los Angeles for an awards ceremony, a Certificate of Appreciation from Nestlé USA and RIF, a $1,000 donation to the winner's charity of choice, and a profile in the 2005 Very Best In Youth publication. Nomination forms are available online and must be received by November 1, 2004.
